Short answer
The most expensive part of an electric car is the battery. When buying at auction, the main question is "is the battery in good condition?" You should avoid lots with undercarriage damage, water damage, and fire risk, check the battery condition (SOH) as much as possible, and know in advance whether the charging port is compatible with charging stations in Azerbaijan.
Battery State of Health (SOH)
SOH (State of Health) — the capacity the battery can hold relative to its new condition. For example, 90% SOH means the battery retains approximately 90% of its original capacity. At auction, it is often impossible to measure this directly; however, if the car runs, the range shown on the dashboard gives an approximate idea. After the car arrives in Baku, it can be checked precisely with a diagnostic device.
Which lots should you avoid?
- Water/Flood: battery is located under the floor — water risk is very high. Signs of flooding.
- Undercarriage and underside impact: possible damage to the battery case.
- Burn: fire — often related to the battery.
- Stationary / does not start: the cause may be in the high-voltage system.
Charging port
Electric vehicles released for the US market have charging ports in US standards (J1772 / CCS1 or Tesla NACS). Most charging stations in Azerbaijan use different standards. An adapter often solves the problem, but you should clarify the model and adapter availability before purchase.
Software and region
Some electric vehicles have navigation, mobile apps, and online services tied to region. The car runs, but some features may not work in Azerbaijan. Determine which features are important to you in advance.
Customs
Customs regulations for electric vehicles and hybrids differ from regular cars and change from time to time. Clarify current regulations before purchase from an official source (State Customs Committee) or from us. For the difference between hybrid, plug-in, and electric see this article check.
Our approach
We do not purchase any lot without your approval. For each lot, we clearly show photos, damage notes and VIN history; we advise against purchasing cars we consider risky. Cars currently for sale from the live auction page view or fill out the order form — 050 202 30 80.
